John Warner previews this week’s NFL MNF matchup and gives out his favorite bets!
A hectic Week 6 wraps up with another doubleheader courtesy of COVID. Honestly, I am loving the two game Monday’s. So much better than a random ass Thursday night game between the Jags and Jets, please, more of these Roger, we’re all begging you. We have two excellent matchups this week with the Chiefs traveling to undefeated Buffalo, and Kyler Murray returning home to the stadium where he won the state HS title just five years ago, to take on the Andy Dalton-led Cowboys.
For Buffalo, this is as big of a game as you’ve had at home in a long time with the defending champs coming to your place in primetime, and then it gets moved to Monday at 5pm. Regardless, this is a golden opportunity for the Bills. The Chiefs looked incredibly vulnerable last week against Las Vegas, with Mahomes routinely running for his life as the Raiders completely worked the Kansas City offensive line. Buffalo’s defense is a significant upgrade from Las Vegas’, and they could really make life difficult for Patrick Mahomes if his OL submits the same type of performance on Monday evening.
To add to matters, the third level of the Chiefs defense was virtually nonexistent, surrendering over 10 YPA to Derek Carr and the speedy Vegas receivers. I’ll be looking for Buffalo to really punish Kansas City with the play action, KC defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo loves to blitz, which leaves his d-backs in one-on-one coverage, a dream for Stefon Diggs. We could be looking at a track meet come midday Monday between these two.
For Arizona, what amounted to a hot start to 2020, has tapered off a bit with lackluster performances against Detroit and Carolina (we don’t count games against NAIA teams like the Jets). Kyler Murray has been great however, as has Deandre Hopkins. Turns out trading for the best WR in the league is a good idea! However, I do not believe in their defense, despite their decent ranking through the first 5 games. Ranking 12th in YPA and YPP, we have to consider that they have played games against Washington and NYJ, who are both completely inept. I have Dalton as the best backup in the league, and I really don’t think Dallas’ offense is going to lose a beat. Dalton has never been throwing to a better group of receivers, the onus for Dallas is also on their defense. To me, Murray is poised to tear this defense apart, and ’m expecting this game to be a track meet of high proportions.
We finally swept a game last Monday, with no TNF game in Week 6. Just like we said, Chargers were undervalued, and honestly dominated that game for 45 minutes before completely crumbling down the stretch. But we got our cover, and we inch closer to being back in black for the season. I’m expecting some big points to be scored tonight, but we see a couple opportunities in the derivative markets as well.
